Trump 2.0: Tracking Material Impact

Throughout the course of the Trump presidency, the Revolving Door Project plans to provide real time, clear-eyed analyses of the President’s approach towards governance, staffing, ethics and critically, the material impact of his pro-corporate, corrupt attitudes. As we outlined in our audit of DOGE’s first year of destruction, the Trump administration has taken a systemic approach to its scorched-earth campaign against the federal government’s public interest responsibilities. There have been real human, political, and institutional costs of this abandonment of the public interest.
Through memos, factsheets, reports, and articles linked below, we will continue to lay bare the devastating consequences of: dismissal of essential federal workers; gutting of enforcement capacity at agencies tasked with cracking down on corporate wrongdoing; attacks on public data, environmental protections, public health precautions (e.g., food safety, vaccines), and financial regulations; assault on disaster preparedness and response efforts; impoundment of appropriated funds; and closure of critical federal government offices.
