Ahead of the House Judiciary Committee’s rescheduled hearing with the CEOs of Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Apple tomorrow, the Revolving Door Project Executive Director Jeff Hauser issued the following statement:

“We’re glad to see Chairman David Cicilline exert meaningful oversight of the Big Tech giants that have taken over key sectors of our modern economy. However, Big Tech has hired lawyers and economists straight out of the FTC and DOJ for years, who now stand ready to exploit insider knowledge and undermine their former colleagues. Plus, Apple’s lobbying chief is helping pick Joe Biden’s vice president, a Google alumnus is influencing his policy, and Facebook has a long relationship with possible appointee Kamala Harris. As we wrote in Washington Monthly this month, better policy ideas alone won’t stop monopolies. We urge the Antitrust Subcommittee to aggressively question each CEO about their hiring practices, and pass sweeping ethics reforms to close this revolving door once and for all.”
