The following statement is attributable to Eleanor Eagan, Research Director of the Governance Team at the Revolving Door Project:
“The news today that Anita Dunn will return to the White House as a senior advisor makes clear that her involvement with this administration was never credibly temporary. As she begins her third tour of duty in the Biden administration, her past evasion of standard ethics requirements that would require her to disclose her income sources and clients, and refrain from shadow lobbying for a year after the end of her service, appear even more inappropriate than before. Dunn and the White House must take steps to shore up public trust in the wake of these evasions. At the very least, that would require that Dunn immediately release a public financial disclosure and sign the White House’s ethics pledge. Even better, she could vow not to work on behalf of corporate clients, at SKDK or otherwise, for the duration of the Biden administration.”
