Executive Branch Agencies That Protect Americans From Corporate Abuses Need Robust Funding, Not Cuts

Executive branch agencies are only able to fulfill their mandates when Congress gives them the resources and staffing to do so. Unfortunately, the Revolving Door Project has found that the federal agencies entrusted most clearly with protecting Americans from corporate abuses (e.g., price gauging, unsafe working conditions, and environmental pollution) are already the most underfunded. With these agencies under renewed attack as President Biden negotiates with the GOP, our research is worth revisiting.
