As various factions within the Democratic party deliberate how to course-correct from the disastrous 2024 elections, prominent pundits and podcasters Ezra Klein of The New York Times and Derek Thompson of The Atlantic and The Ringer have come out with a book Abundance, offering their diagnosis of where the left went wrong and their vision of where liberals should go next.
Similarly to how concentrated markets allow existing players to re-entrench their power, these figures at the apex of the media ecosystem are poised to capitalize upon their powerful platforms in order to seed their ideas for ideological realignment. There are those who would debate them, but do not have the advantage of similarly large platforms.
Revolving Door Project Executive Director Jeff Hauser invites Ezra Klein, Derek Thompson, and their ideological counterparts to engage in open debate with him or other progressive voices who are skeptical of their agenda and interested in hashing out their differences, in a venue of their choice. It is far better to have the agenda of the non-Trump majority determined by a free-flowing debate rather than settled by the preexisting media power of various figures.
