In the past six months, the Revolving Door Project released eleven memos cataloging the first Trump executive branch’s approach towards running the federal executive branch.
The memos illustrated a core theme of the Trump executive branch: the former president and his cast of conflicted appointees flouted ethics, prioritizing corporate interests while endangering the health, safety and wellbeing of the American people.
The initial series served as a reminder of the first Trump administration’s utter indifference to the public interest. This time around, the Revolving Door Project will be on hand to provide real time, clear-eyed analyses of the President-elect’s approach towards governance, staffing, ethics and critically, the material impact of his pro-corporate attitudes.
Revolving Door Project Research Director Timi Iwayemi said: “As was made sweepingly apparent by Project 2025, the incoming Trump administration has a clear plan to empower big corporations while attacking the freedoms of everyday Americans. There is no doubt that consumer protections and corporate accountability will be on the chopping block as the Trump favor machine goes into overdrive. This abandonment of the public interest will lead to devastating consequences for most Americans. We hope the fourth estate will steer coverage towards documenting these consequences.”
Revolving Door Project Executive Director Jeff Hauser said: “Voters have made clear that they will acquiesce to corruption if it comes paired with a stronger economy. However, as experts in the corrosive impact of corporate cash in politics, we have learned that a corrupt government is in reality incompatible with a truly strong economy. Reporters, podcasters, and others who inform the public should understand that the Revolving Door Project is prepared to call out corruption when it occurs and to emphasize how its effects across the executive branch pose a material threat to working class Americans.”
